LCDR Funke gave me my Re-enlistment. I still remember my first day when he introduced himself as "LCDR Funke, like the chicken" what a great guy.

JC,

How have you been after all these years, not sure if you remember me, but I remember you!! I have been in contact with a few of the old Bt's from the Miller, such as BTCS Billy Ray Miller, BTC Monte Green, BT1 David Smith, BT2 Gary Marsh, BT2 Russ Ewert to name a few. If you give me your updated e-mail I can send you info on them and info for a great website, also a crewmember was nice enough to convert old vhs footage from the Miller to DVD and sent it to me, I have been burning copies and sending to many of the old crew so that they can show others what it was like on the Miller, the footage was taken around 1990, but still depicts what we did on the ship!!

To all of my old shipmates we sure had some great times and memories. I was jack of the dust on board. Thats the ship I made 1st class on way back when. Thanks Houcky for such a great page and a great place to catch up with old shipmates.

Spent a most enjoyable 3/c Middie cruise aboard Miller in '83. CDR Yusi and LCDR Funke were CO and XO. Worked with GMG1 Tobey. Thanks for not throwing a goofy Middie overboard!
