About Me
Was attached to the Miller in March '73, stood the first quarterdeck watch the day she was commissioned 30 June 1973 and was discharged in September '76. I moved back to my home state of Texas and have been a plumber and building inspector since the late '70s and now employed as a Building Plans Examiner for the City of Southlake, TX.

Thanks Travis. Your right I'm from Monroe area. You've got a better memory than I do. Thanks again
Travis,
Yes, I got to the Miller in late '78. I'm glad I found this website.
u right, brings back memories, though in those days my perception of reality was fuzzy, surviving helps to put things in perspective. later
WAS ONLY ON THE MILLER FOR ABOUT A YEAR. I WAS THE AIR DEPT. CHIEF. I MADE THE NATO CRUISE IN 77. I AM NOW 68 YEARS OLD. I SPENT 20 YEARS IN THE NAVY RETIRED IN FEB 78 AND WENT TO WORK FOR THE NAVY AS A CRAB (CIVILIAN). WORKED THERE FOR 22 YEARS AND RETIRED WITH 42 YEARS OF FEDERAL SERVICE. I HAD A GREAT TINE ON THE MILLER. NOT QUITE WHAT I WAS USED TO AS FAR AS THE RIDE BECAUSE I WAS USED TO CARRIERS. MET A LOT OF GREAT SHIPMATES ONTHE MILLER AND HAD A FEW BEERS AND HEADACHES TO GO WITH THEM. STILL HAVE MY CRUISE BOOK AND LOOK AT IT EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE. I LIVE IN SANFORD ,NC DO NOTHING BUT THINK ABOUT CHASING WOMEN AND IF I DO I HOPE I CAN'T CATCH THEM. HAHA MY CELL IS 240 538 7437
You are a much more skilled photographer than I. I have improved, but you are the man. I doff my chapeau
